27 is the lowest I've seen

27 degree is the lowest I get. I think it was 2 days ago. Weather madness. Now it's 28 degree. It used to be constantly 31 degree. Now it's 28. It's good, just don't rain so often please.

And my laptop is now dead. PS2 is half alive. I hope some shop in Sim Lim can fix it.

Drink up for a longer life

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16173568/wid/11915773?GT1=8816

Moderate drinking may lengthen your life, while too much may shorten it, researchers from Italy report. Their conclusion is based on pooled data from 34 large studies involving more than 1 million people and 94,000 deaths.

According to the data, drinking a moderate amount of alcohol — up to four drinks per day in men and two drinks per day in women — reduces the risk of death from any cause by roughly 18 percent, the team reports in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

Too bad beer is quite expensive here, sigh..
Tomorrow. Last day of the week. Woo hoo..

First time my thermo shows 28 degree. It's been raining all day long.
My socks were wet all day. Can't wait for the long weekend.

Monday again soon and DBZ

The last few weekends are just too busy. Can't wait for another weekend. Waiting for a weekend in office is quite a torture.

I've been playing DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2. It's definitely better than its predecessor, especially the hand to hand fighting. I tried playing DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi this afternoon and I don't feel like playing it again. Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is way better. Too bad the same old problem, retrying a battle needs another loading, is still not fixed.

Someone from the past

I think I saw someone I know from a few years ago this morning. I'm about 90% sure from the body posture and the gesture. But it's too far away to confirm. Anyway, since I'm always at the same place at that time, probably I'll see the person again.

GParted almost make my data departed

I just want to change my external hd from lousy ntfs to fat32 so that i can write into the disk using ubuntu. So i resize the current partition and create a fat32 on the freed space. But what happened is, there was some error in the middle of the process. GParted shows that there were 2 partitions. One which fills the whole disk and one with 0 size. Both partitions' file system are not recognizable. Then I deleted the first partition. At this point, I can still read the files in the drive. Then I reconnect the drive and to my horror, everything was gone.

Help me.. GParted forum come to help. I come accross some similar ntfs cases, but no solution. But after some more searches, I found about this tool called TestDisk. At first, it can't detect the partition. The after some advanced poking, there is an option to choose the partition type. So I choose something resembling ntfs (there are 2 ntfs there, I just pick the first one). And voila, I can see the files. Then there was also an option to restore the backup table or something. I did that. I don't remember which one I did first. Anyway, I get it to work now.

Then I tried to resize the partition again, without setting the rest to fat32 this time. It doesn't work.

I also find about Hiren's Boot CD. It contains many recovery tools including TestDisk. I think it's very useful in this kind of situation.

hard drive crash

damn it, my laptop's hard drive crashed with all my data. crap.
now i have to be prepared to spend 300+++ to buy a new drive and recover the data.
i hope it can be recovered with reasonable price.

lesson learned: back up your data. hard drives are piece of shits.
and hitachi sucks. screw you hitachi! they've created lousy hard drive last time, and now mine is screwed too. less than 1 week after the 3 years warranty expired. great engineering there. it spoiled on time. hah!

Mika may be back

Mika: I'm not done yet

Mika may be back to F1. I hope he is. I really hope so. Without Schumi, it's kind of less interesting.
"Naturally to start doing a second test, or more tests, I will get stronger and quicker.

"I will have more knowledge about what tools we can use and can help more for the future.

"But I don't know. We have to discuss and think about it and see what happens."
Looks like a positive clue to me. Mika vs Kimi vs Alonso, how's that? And if Schumi choose to come back too, wow..
